From 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. head instructor Devhonte Johnson and fellow martial artist Murilo Santana will welcome guests to the new school. Unity branched off from its New York location.

"We've been anticipating this day for awhile," trainer Naji Mitchell said. "There's been a lot of buildup."

Unity first opened its doors a few months ago but will celebrate its start Saturday with a kids training session at 10:30 a.m. and an adults' open mat at noon.

Mitchell said they've already trained a few successful young martial artists but want to expand to adults more.

"We're expecting this program to grow pretty quickly," he said. "We can't wait to get out there. We're excited about this program."

Head trainer Johnson won multiple International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation championships in his career. He ranks No. 1 in his section by IBJJF.

Mitchell said jiu jitsu can help people of all ages.

"We're going to be having a big focus on values," he said. "We follow up to make sure students are doing well in school. It's also a confidence-builder for adults."
